Three prolific Pontypridd burglars jailed
Left to right: Lee Rees, Craig Griffiths and Christopher Horner
The men entered a total of three houses in the Trallwn area during the early hours of the morning and stole an array of items from inside the property whilst the occupants slept.
They first attended an address in Middle Street at around 2am while a husband and wife were asleep upstairs. Upon checking their property, the couple realised a number of items had been stolen including car keys, house keys, bank cards, and a leather wallet containing £15.
Detective Constable Joshua Emlyn
Detective Constable Joshua Emlyn said, “CCTV footage captured their movements through Pontypridd town centre and Trallwn, even entering one of the victims addresses before making off with their personal items. They were identified by a local officer and arrested shortly after still in possession of some of the stolen goods.
The sentence is a great result and is the result of both local knowledge and swiftly acting on the information. It should give the local community reassurance that three known burglars are in prison and off the streets for the foreseeable future.”
All three defendants were arrested and pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
Griffiths was sentenced to a total of three years and eight months imprisonment while both Horner and Rees were sentenced to two years and eight months imprisonment.
