South Wales Police are issuing a warning that burglars are targeting houses undergoing renovations amidst a new target for burglars scoping unoccupied properties.
Empty properties being renovated offer easy picking for burglars. We don’t want to cause unnecessary alarm but we do want to create awareness that these burglaries have happened and encourage residents to remain vigilant and keep their home secure.
Items being stolen include boilers, white goods, fixtures, fittings, plumbing equipment and power tools.
DCI Marc Lamerton advises: "Please don’t leave tools or property lying around and remove any valuables from homes that you are working on and if possible don’t install boilers or white goods until the property is occupied."
