Luke Moran from Aberdare and Courtney Peach from Hirwaun was sentenced for a knifepoint robbery at Aberamman Store

Luke Moran from Aberdare and Courtney Peach from Hirwaun was sentenced on 19th May 2023 at Merthyr Crown Court for a knifepoint robbery at Aberamman Stores that occurred in February 2022.

Moran, aged 28 was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in prison, while Peach, aged 26 was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months.

Detective Constable Mike Snare said, “Moran entered the store wearing a balaclava after being told the shop was empty by his accomplice Peach who then entered the shop pretending to be a terrified member of the public.

Moran then threatened the shopkeeper with the knife, who persistently attempted to fight the suspect off by kicking out at him. The suspects left the store with a quantity of cash from the till.

We certainly welcome the result of their sentence after our team conducted a thorough investigation and were able to identify them both through extensive CCTV tracking of their movements.”
