Drakeford fails to back his Health Minister
Commenting on the news that the First Minister failed twice to back Labour’s Health Minister in an interview, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Andrew RT Davies MS said:
“We know that Labour Ministers in the Senedd do not take the running of our Welsh NHS seriously. Just yesterday, on the 6 o’clock news we heard yet again the Labour Health Minister claim that it was not her responsibility.
“Today we learn that when pressed twice in an interview, the First Minister refused to say that he has confidence in her.
“With nearly 1-in-4 people in Wales on an NHS waiting list and over 30,000 waiting two years for treatment, it’s no wonder Mark Drakeford won’t publicly back his failing Labour Health Minister. If he does not have confidence in her then how can anyone else in Wales have confidence in her?”
