Wales Schools face very real pressures as teachers face redundancy

Commenting on the news, Welsh Conservative Shadow for Education Laura Anne Jones MS said:

“This is just further evidence that the Welsh Government are out of their depth when it comes to the real issues affecting people in Wales. Education as well as health, must be prioritised above all passion projects from Labour. Instead, the Welsh Government has cut the education budget in real terms leaving a massive funding gap in the sector, showing that their priorities are not the people’s priorities.

Schools are struggling to afford to keep teachers

“At a time when schools are struggling to afford to keep teachers you must wonder why the budget has been prioritised on so many Labour pet projects – £32million on a 20mph zone, £225million on Cardiff Airport and Senedd expansion which is predicted to cost £100million.

“This is an outrageous mismanagement of funds that will ultimately harm the future generations of Wales who will look back at this time and question the decisions by the Welsh Government that have damaged their prospects.”
