AberdareOnline secures funding boost from Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund
AberdareOnline, the community website that has been sharing local news and information since March 2000, is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of £750 from the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund – Micro Fund. The grant will be used to purchase new equipment to support the operation of AberdareOnline, allowing the website to continue to grow and share local news and information via its website and social media channels.
“We are extremely grateful for this grant from the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund – Micro Fund,” said AberdareOnline’s founder, Andrew Thomas. “This funding will enable us to upgrade our equipment and ensure that we can continue to provide a valuable service to the local community.”
AberdareOnline has been playing an active role in sharing local news stories, events, activities and information for over two decades. The website has a great social media following and this grant will help AberdareOnline to continue to grow and continue to help other groups and organisations by promoting them via AberdareOnline.co.uk.

The Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund – Micro Fund is designed to support small-scale projects that benefit communities in the upper Cynon, Neath and Afan valleys. The fund is part of the wider Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund, which has been set up to support the local communities affected by the construction and operation of the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm.
