Welsh Conservative response to Labour’s announcement on PCSOs
Commenting on the Welsh Labour Government’s announcement of more PCSOs, Welsh Conservative Shadow Justice Minister, Mark Isherwood MS said:
“As the responsibility of policing rightly remains a reserved matter, it’s important governments in Cardiff and Westminster work together to ensure our streets and communities are safe.
“Extra investment in PCSOs is welcome and was a key plank of the Welsh Conservative Senedd manifesto in May, and will complement the fantastic recruitment of new police officers undertaken by the Prime Minister and the UK Conservative Government.
“Nearly two years into the Prime Minister’s programme almost 450 additional police officers have been recruited across Wales, and by putting more police on the streets, launching our Beating Crime Plan, and progressing with our Police, Crime, Sentencing, and Courts Bill, we are making Welsh streets and communities safe for everyone.”
