BMA Response to Welsh Government announcement on mandatory face coverings

Responding to the announcement by the Welsh Government on Monday 13 July, that face-covering will be mandatory on public transport in Wales by July 27th, BMA Cymru Wales council Chair Dr David Bailey said:

“We welcome today’s announcement that face coverings will become mandatory on public transport in Wales, but argue that the new rules should be implemented without delay, to offer protection to those using public transport during the next two weeks.

“We also continue our calls for face coverings to be worn by the public in all areas where they cannot socially distance, not just on public transport, and for the continued practice of good hand hygiene.”
