Classic Car Show To Return To Welsh Mining Experience

All roads will lead to the Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park next month, as plans gear up for the Classic Car Show 2019. 

Polished Porsches, fabulous Fords, gleaming Golfs are just some of the classic cars expected to be on display against the stunning backdrop of the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery. 

Taking place on Father's Day weekend, the event, in partnership with the Glamorgan Classic Car Club, is a great day out for car lovers, with a chance to see beautifully looked-after vehicles from decades gone by. 

The arrival of the Classic Car Show means the range of activities at the Welsh Mining Experience on Saturday, June 15 has stepped up a gear – with something for everyone. 

Take a tour, enjoy the craft fair, treat yourself to hand-crafted chocolate, browse the gift shop for a treat for Dad or Grandad and enjoy a mouth-watering lunch or afternoon tea – all in one place!   

Make a day of it by booking a Black Gold Underground Tour and join the men who once worked in mines up and down the Welsh Valleys. They will fit you with your miner's helmet before guiding you back in time, sharing memories and stories along the way. The tour also includes DRAM! The Cinematic Experience. 

Award-winning Craft of Hearts is now based at the Welsh Mining Experience, and they will be holding a craft fair on the day, with stalls full of whimsical, beautiful, and eye-catching handmade crafts available to purchase. 

The multi-award winning Chocolate House, also now making the Welsh Mining Experience its home, who supply their handmade chocolates to foreign dignitaries, celebrities, and 5-Star hotels. Now you can visit their bespoke chocolate shop and pick up a sweet treat, or why not book onto your very own chocolate making workshop and become a master chocolatier?   

The newly renovated Caffe Bracchi will be open, with mouth-watering fresh cakes, delicious hot food – made with locally-sourced products – as well as hot and cold drinks. 

The Classic Car Show runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Entrance is £2 and children under the age of five go free.
