Welsh Government to urgently address staffing shortages in the Welsh NHS which are putting patients at risk.
Darren Millar AM has repeated his calls for the Welsh Government to urgently address staffing shortages in the Welsh NHS which are putting patients at risk.
Commenting on today’s news of a Royal Collage warning over the shortage of consultant paediatricians in Wales, acting Welsh Conservative Health spokesperson, Mr Millar, said:
“Time after time we hear that the Welsh Labour Government is failing to listen to our calls, and those of doctors, patients and professional bodies to address shortfalls in our healthcare system.
“Staffing gaps are happening across the Welsh NHS. We’ve reported problems in midwifery, nursing, local healthcare and just this week GPs; but these are all a direct consequence of the Health Minister’s failure to manage the health service’s workforce needs.
“I urge the Welsh Labour Government to act now to fill this shortage of paediatric consultants quickly, before innocent children are put at risk from this.”
