NRW in a ‘mess’ according to staff in leaked report

Wales’ environmental protection agency has had a staff consultation, which implied major restructuring plans were underway, leaked. Staff are reportedly overwhelmingly against the proposals.

Shadow Environment Minister, Andrew RT Davies AM, said:

“When staff working at the coalface of Wales’ largest quango paint such an awful picture, with morale at an "all-time low" and another branding the situation "soul-destroying", it's time for the Labour Welsh Government to admit this merger has failed.

“Since its creation, Natural Resources Wales has been plagued by scandal, incompetence and poor morale, and the staff have clearly lost confidence in the organisation.

“NRW has some of the most important duties of any public body in Wales, and it’s not only failing its staff but also failing the people of this country.

“The Minister must now listen to these latest concerns from staff, take action and go back to the drawing board as NRW is no longer fit for purpose.”
