Road Closures

  • The A4059 in Aberdare is closed between the Asda and Ynys roundabouts.

  • A465 Hirwaun roundabout is impassable into Rhigos due to the adverse weather conditions today. Bus journeys on October 12 are unable to serve Rhigos due to the severe weather, and will be terminating at Hirwaun.

  • Please note, northbound train services are terminating at Fernhill due to the weather.

Bins and Recycling

Due to the continued severe weather, refuse and recycling collections may be affected. If you are due a collection today (Oct 12), please leave your bags at your normal collection point and we will be with you as soon as possible.

  • Collection crews will NOT be serving the Cwm Cadlan and Brecon Road area in Hirwaun on Friday (Oct 12), due to the severe weather. The Council will arrange for an overtime crew to work tomorrow (Oct 13) to collect as much as possible. Residents in these areas are advised to leave their waste at their normal bin collection point.
