Vote for your favourite RCT Park
Whether you love trekking in Dare Valley Country Park, exploring the Victorian splendour of Aberdare Park or living a Lido life in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, we all have a favourite green space.
And NOW is the time to vote for your favourite park in Rhondda Cynon Taf in a bid to secure a spot in the Peoples' Choice UK Top 10.
Nearly 2,000 parks and open spaces were recently awarded the Green Flag status by Keep Britain Tidy, including eight in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
But only 10 can make it into the Peoples' Choice rankings and the decision is down to you.
Voting is free, quick and easy. All you need to do is visit the Green Flag website and select our region (Cardiff) and click on the Green Flag Rhondda Cynon Taf park that gets your vote.
Make sure you share the fact you have voted and get others involved via social media using #PeoplesChoice but be quick – voting ends on September 30.
In the Green Flag awards earlier this year, Rhondda Cynon Taf had huge success, with Aberdare Park, which has recently been refurbished, securing Green Flag status for the first time.
The Green Flag award was also presented to:
• Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd
• Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare
• Taff’s Well Park
• CwmClydach Countryside Park near Tonypandy
• Lee Gardens Community Pool
• Daerwonno Outdoor Centre
• Pontygwaith Nature Reserve
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Heritage Services, said: "We had fantastic success at this year's Green Flag Awards, with eight of our parks and open spaces securing the prestigious standard.
"We are so lucky to have such a range of beautiful parks, which are home to Victorian fountains, bandstands, amazing adventure playgrounds, boating lakes, wildlife, epic walks and views and even the National Lido of Wales!
"Any of the eight Green Flag winners in Rhondda Cynon Taf would be worthy of a place in the UK top 10, so, everyone, get voting NOW!"
