Fun for all the family at Aberdare Festival
Aberdare Festival is back over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, with lots of fun and attractions for all the family.
The Council is once again hosting Aberdare Festival in the grounds of Aberdare Park on Saturday, May 26.Gates open from 11am until 5pm.
There will be live music by local performers throughout the day from a dedicated outdoor music stage, starting from 12pm, offering something for all musical tastes.
There will also be many other attractions for all the family at Aberdare Festival this year. Other attractions will include:
- Family Fun Fair
- Zorbing Balls
- Donkey Rides
- Zip Wire
- Spider Mountain and Vertical Slide
- Circus Skills
- Farm Animals
There will also be local craft stalls and food vendors in the park, offering plenty of handmade gifts and ideas and hot and cold refreshments so families can make a day of it.
Cllr Maureen Webber, Deputy Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, said: “Aberdare Festival is a firm favourite with families and is one of many events the Council hosts across the County Borough throughout the year.
“Free events such as these continue to attract thousands of visitors and help boost the local economy by bringing a large influx of people into our town centres and surrounding areas.
“The Council is continuing to work with the Friends of Aberdare Park as we look to develop the park further following recent investment in improvements tto the play area and footpath and the reinstatement of boats on the lake.
“Aberdare Festival provides an opportunity to showcase all that the park and the local area has to offer and we look forward to welcoming everyone on Saturday, May 26.”

Visitors to Aberdare Festival will also be able to enjoy all the regular features at Aberdare Park, including the popular boating lake, which was completely drained, cleaned, refilled and re-opened in 2017 as part of the Council’s £100,000 investment at the beauty spot.
Take to the water in the four-person boats and make the most of your visit to Aberdare Park, rekindling those wonderful memories of yesteryear.
As part of the major investment, Aberdare Park also has benefitted from improvements to the children’s play area as well as resurfaced and improved footpaths.
Admission to Aberdare Festival is FREE
