Cynon Valley Party Meeting in Mountain Ash

Cynon Valley Party Meeting in Mountain Ash

Having attended all Cynon Valley Party constituency meetings to date it is clear the people who have attended the meeting all have one thing in common that they express the need for change in Cynon Valley.

The meeting last night in the Jeffreys Arms Mountain Ash was extremely buoyant with of fresh ideas something past meetings have also showed at the meeting in the Red Cow in Llwydcoed.

Every part of Cynon Valley so far where meetings have been held the are council taxpayers going out of their way attempting to get local problems solved, sometimes they get help from their local councilor but this is not always the case.

Local councilors place party first council second and the constituents the people that voted them in are last on the list. The Cynon Valley Party will place constituents first because it is only concerned with what happens in the Cynon Valley not in the Westminster Parliament or the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff Bay.

At the moment it seems the people of Cynon Valley are having a raw deal, we have been informed time and time again at election time that the railway line will be extended to Hirwaun. We are informed that the Metro is coming with the new Wales and Borders rail franchise October 2018 for a 15-year period, then “Network Rail believes it will take 28 years to get the Welsh rail system up to standard, Economy Secretary Ken Skates has been told.” So how long before Network rail start extending existing lines.

Anyone who travels out of the Cynon Valley will be aware of the lack of funding on direct major routes out and into the valley, again there is talk of constructing the Southern Cross Valley Link road at Mountain Ash but no start date or completion date. Local people who were not satisfied with the proposed plans where the new road joins the B4275 brought up this subject of the link road in the meeting last night. Concerns were the extra traffic generated through Penrhiwceiber would cause major problems, as they explained it is bad enough now attempting to drive through thee village. Also why is the Northern Cross Valley Link road not a priority also the question was asked why the road crossing at the old AB factory estate is not opened up for local residents to use, just some of the questions posed by local frustrated residents.

There are some major developments proposed with planning applications in for approval that’s without the proposed 500 house development on the old Phurnacite land but no major highway investment in Cynon Valley on the A4059 and the A470 at peak time’s just a traffic queue.

Merthyr seems to get preferential treatment as far as development for jobs is concerned Welsh Assembly building, call centers, large shopping outlets and now Trago Mills and the town looks to be doing well.

If you think we need change in Cynon Valley, why not come to the next Cynon Valley Party meeting

Spread the love
