Macmillan Cancer Support in Wales would like to extend its thanks to your readers for their incredible support of this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Now in its 26th year, thousands of coffee mornings were held in schools, workplaces, community centres and homes all over Wales on and around Friday 30th September.
We have loved seeing so many fantastic photos of cakes over social media. This year has seen some wonderfully creative cakes and events. But more than that, we have loved seeing families, friends, colleagues and communities coming together for a coffee, a slice of cake and a chat, in support of Macmillan.
World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest annual fundraising event. Last year, we raised more than £26m – a total we hope to have beaten in 2016.
One in three of us will get cancer, with more than 130,000 people in Wales currently living with and beyond cancer.
The money raised will help us continue to provide services in Wales, including funding our nurses, physiotherapists, welfare benefits advisers and our information centres in some of Wales’ hospitals, as well as campaigning for better cancer care for patients.
Yours faithfully
Susan Morris
