Welsh Conservatives respond to Leanne Wood’s failure to galvanize her party’s support for a Labour coalition
Commenting on news that Plaid Cymru AMs have rejected the prospect of exploring a coalition deal with Labour, a Welsh Conservative spokesperson said:
"This latest development raises major questions as to who is speaking for Plaid Cymru at the moment.
"Only days ago, the Party’s Leader raised the prospect of a coalition deal, but her own Assembly Members have already shot that proposal down in flames.
"Having also launched a surprise campaign for Welsh independence in recent days, supported by somewhere between six and 15 percent of the population, Plaid look increasingly like a fringe Party. It would seem Leanne Wood is losing touch with both her Party, and the wider Welsh public."
