The end of an era
It’s the end of an era with one of the most important voices in British politics resigning as UK Independence Party (UKIP) leader. I am extremely sad to see Nigel Farage leave. He is a close friend and a true inspiration.
We now as a party need to build on his hard work and demonstrate that UKIP has a broad agenda and retains a critical position in UK politics as the third party and first choice to the failing establishment. We campaigned on a full manifesto in the general election and in Wales where we now also have elected members.
Since the referendum nothing has materially changed to remove us from the EU until article 50 is activated and as a party we must scrutinise and contribute to that process.
I will want to learn about the visions of all of the potential contenders and I will back the candidate best able to deliver on continuing to secure Brexit for the British people and promote our many causes and policies to develop a fairer and more prosperous society.
