New Sponsor on Board for Aberdare Park Road Races
The Organisers of Aberdare Road Races have announced a new title sponsor and are predicting a bumper 2016 race weekend.
Hel Performance, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of stainless steel motorcycle brake lines, will be title sponsors of the 2106 event. They produce over 3,800 different motorcycle brake line kits and their products are already used by MotoGP, WSBK, BSB and IoM TT teams, among them Crescent Suzuki, Samsung Honda and Norton. Although they have supported the unique South Wales race meeting previously this will be their first year as title sponsors.
Meanwhile, the Talbot Green based Kawasaki dealer for South Wales, GT Superbikes, will continue their association with the Park as the main event sponsors.
Derek Smith, Chairman of event organisers Aberaman Motorcycle Club and General Secretary of the East South Wales ACU Regional Office, confirmed the news saying “I am delighted to have Hel Performance on board as title sponsors. Our annual event holds a unique place in the road racing world and the support of such a major company confirms the high regard that the event is held in by the racing community. The number of top names who have said they would like to race with us is also evidence of that.”
Last year saw Isle of Man TT Legend John McGuinness demonstrate a MotoGP bike from the Phil Morris Racing collection at Aberdare and he has indicated that he plans to be back in 2016, but this time racing rather than doing demonstrations.
Derek explained, “I think John’s enthusiasm for the event has triggered interest from a number of other top racers and I am expecting to be able to announce a few more big names in the New Year. I am confident of big grids all weekend and a rare opportunity for spectators to see some of the biggest names in the sport in action in Wales.”
Aberdare Park Road Races will take place on July 30th and 31st and you can find out more about the event at the website,http://www.aberdare-park-road-
