Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Answer to Flooding on PROW Aberaman to Cwmbach

Flooding continues on the well-used Public Right Of Way (PROW) between Aberaman and Cwmbach.

AberdareOnline and a number of local residents had continued to inform Rhondda Cynon Taf Council (RCTC) of this ongoing problem by email and on Twitter, the PROW was also discussed in a meeting with two RCTC countryside managers on site.

RCTC answer was to construct a trench to help drain the water from one section of the PROW; the work carried out looks and is unprofessional just a typical quick fix in an attempt to pacify local residents.

The new development that runs adjacent to the PROW hasn’t helped raising height of the floodplain and constructing an earth bund to protect the new development from floodwater.

You can make your own mind up what RCTC has done to stop the PROW from flooding a local resident has provided a video and placed it on YouTube today 16 December 2015.
