Welsh Conservative Leader holds Reddit ‘Ask me anything’ event
Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew RT Davies, will become the first Welsh politician to take part in a Reddit ‘Ask me Anything’ (AMA) event on Tuesday evening.
The event is being hosted by the ukpolitics channel on Tuesday 8th December at 7pm – www.reddit.com/r/ukpolitics
It’s the second in a series of online events undertaken by Mr Davies, following a recent Facebook Q&A, and gives members of the public an opportunity to pose questions to the party leader ahead of the Welsh General Election May.
Mr Davies said:
“I’m proud to be the first Welsh party leader to hold an AMA event on Reddit. Social media is having a profound impact on the way politicians communicate with voters and I want to be part of that change.
“Around 6 million UK users access Reddit each month, which demonstrates its reach and influence, and they don’t call it the front page of the internet for nothing!
“Ultimately, we all have a responsibility to address declining voter turnout and technology could provide some of the answers to that disconnect, if used properly.
“Above all, events like this are an exciting opportunity to engage with voters ahead of the most important Assembly election in memory.”
