ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET, ‘GLOW’…

RNIB Cymru invites people to take part in new fun run with a difference

RNIB Cymru (Royal National Institute of Blind People) is hosting a Glow Neon 3k Fun Run on Saturday 24 October at Cardiff International Sports Stadium.

Taking place after dark, the run is inspired by the colourful full moon parties of Thailand. Participants can run, walk or even dance their way around the track under the UV lights while being sprayed with luminous colourful paint.

RNIB Cymru’s Fundraising Manager, Carol McKinlay said: “We’re so excited about hosting an RNIB Glow run at Cardiff International Sports Stadium this year – the first in Wales. It’s such a fun and colourful event and for a great cause.

“The run is 3k long so is suitable for most people. It is an excellent starting point for people who want to get fit – and of course for people looking for a fun start to the weekend.”

RNIB Glow is open to anyone over the age of 10 and is fully accessible to blind and partially sighted participants. Guide runners are available to support any blind or partially sighted people.

It costs £10 to register, and all participants are asked to raise a minimum of £25 sponsorship (£15 for students, £10 for children). Visitwww.rnib.org.uk/glow to find out more and register.

RNIB Glow events are taking place across the UK every weekend in October.

All money raised from RNIB Glow will help RNIB provide practical and emotional support to everyone affected by sight loss.

Spread the love
