TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council intends, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, which will have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along the following length of road:
Wellington Street with its junction with Meirion Street Roundabout for a distance of 44 metres (or thereabouts) in a north easterly direction The restriction is necessary to enable works to be executed on or near the road.
The Order would come into force from 7:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday 6th August 2017 or until such time as the works are completed.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency service vehicles.
During the period of the closure, the alternative route for vehicles is as follows: –
From the north eastern side of the closure, proceed via Wellington Street, Abernant Roundabout, Ynys Roundabout and Aberdare Bypass (A4059) and Wellington Street to the south western side of the closure. The route for drivers travelling in the opposite direction is the reverse of the above.
For vehicles exceeding the 12’ 00” height restriction at the railway bridge between the Abernant and Ynys Roundabouts, the alternative route is as follows:
From the north eastern side of the closure, proceed via Wellington Street, Abernant Roundabout, Cwmbach Road, Canal Road, Cwmbach Roundabout, Gasworks Roundabout, A4059, Tinney’s Roundabout, Ynys Roundabout and Aberdare Bypass (A4059) and Wellington Street to the south western side of the closure. The route for drivers travelling in the opposite direction is the reverse of the above.
