Letter from Macmillan Cancer Support in Wales

The Covid-19 global pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to our communities in Wales. Many people feel isolated, overwhelmed and afraid of what the uncertain future may hold.

At Macmillan Cancer Support we know that for people living with cancer, the emotional and mental health challenges that a cancer diagnosis brings are compounded by the current uncertainties. We have campaigned for the timely diagnosis, treatment and care for people living with cancer, and we will not allow cancer to become the forgotten ‘C’.

We believe that this Christmas, perhaps more than any other, should be the time to reach out to family, friends, neighbours and colleagues and let know that they are special to us.

This is the perfect time for simple actions, such as a kind thought, a smile through a screen, a friendly voice on the telephone, or the noise of a Christmas card landing on the doormat. Making someone feel better is one of the best Christmas gifts you can give.

We will be there for you over Christmas, as the Macmillan Support Line is open throughout the Christmas holidays and can provide professional clinical, practical and financial information to people living with cancer. Please call us on 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week, 8am-8pm).

For over one hundred years, Macmillan has offered support to people living with cancer but without your donations we simply cannot support the growing number of people who need us no matter what the time of year.

You can help us to support people living with cancer by donating at https://www.macmillan.org.uk/donate or visit our online shop
