Blaengwawr and Aberdare Boys Comprehensive Schools

Following AberdareOnline enquiring on Twitter about the demolition of Blaengwawr Comprehensive School Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has released a statement.

We at AberdareOnline were first alerted to a planning application Ref: 15/1521/08 for demolition of Blaengwawr Comprehensive School by the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. The council has made no application for demolition of Aberdare Boys Comprehensive School as both schools are up for sale. The Sale of the 2 schools advertised by Rawlins and Madley is strange, unlike other schools Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has sold in Cynon Valley the 2 schools are out to tender not to be auctioned off.

There are rumors going around that a local developer has the Blaengwawr site but this is only gossip, but it will be interesting who gets it after the tender process.
