We are investigating an attempted burglary of a Jewellery shop in Talbot Green which happened at around 1.00pm on Tuesday 14th August.

Two men wearing balaclavas tried unsuccessfully to force an entry to the store by trying to smash the window with a hammer but were disturbed by staff. They made off in a black Vauxhall Tigra which they then abandoned on the roundabout at the junction of the A4119 and the A473 – known locally as the Matalan roundabout.

Detective Inspector Arabella Rees said: “We want to hear from anyone who may have seen the two men leaving the Tigra at the roundabout. In what direction they fled? We believe they may have removed their balaclavas when in the car.
“We are also appealing to anyone who may have captured any footage of this on their dash-cams.”

Two men, aged 23 and 25 years old from Llanrumney in Cardiff have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and are being held at Merthyr Tydfil police station.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference 1800308479.
