Jason Vincent 55, from Mountain Ash was given an eight-month sentence suspended for two years following his conviction.
He will also be required to pay £4,000 in compensation and complete a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
This follows officers receiving a call in April 2026 from Mountain Ash Comprehensive School to say the school had been broken into. Following extensive searches of CCTV, Vincent can be seen walking around the school with a tool. This following damage to a minibus and several windows/doors within the school which were smashed.
Vincent was sentenced at Merthyr Magistrates court on Thursday August 27, where he pleaded guilty to criminal damage to property under £5,000, burglary other than dwelling- theft and possession of a class b drug- cannabis/ cannabis resin.
