Commenting on the publication of an independent assessment of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, which has uncovered serious failings in leadership, governance and patient safety, Natasha Asghar MS, Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care, said:
“This is yet another deeply concerning report into one of Wales’ largest health boards, exposing serious and systemic failings that should never have been allowed to develop.
“The findings paint a picture of an organisation where staff are afraid to speak up, leadership has fallen short and patient safety has not been prioritised.
“Ministers must move quickly to ensure recommendations are implemented in full and hold the Health Board to account for delivering significant improvements in patient care.”
