Walk Wales is back to help raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance

As the Wales Air Ambulance marks its 25 th anniversary year the Charity is delighted to
announce its annual Walk Wales fundraise is back for its seventh year.
However, this year’s Walk Wales will be different, it will be bigger and more accessible than
ever, with new routes and distances so that everyone can take part.
Would you like to ‘Walk Wales with ex-Wales rugby legend James Hook’? If so, put on your
walking shoes and take part in this year’s event, whether it’s in person or virtually.
Whether you’re looking for a scenic stroll, a personal challenge, or a big adventure across
some of Wales’ most beautiful landscapes, there’s a walk waiting for you.
So, lace up those trainers and help save lives across Wales by entering Walk Wales. Whether
you want to go alone and set yourself your own challenge or join one of our mass
participants challenges, we have something for everyone.
Walk Wales, which has been running since 2020, is a popular fundraiser for people of all
ages and abilities.
There will be three epic challenges to take part in including joining Wales Air Ambassador
James Hook once again to walk along the Gower peninsula.
Walk Wales with James Hook, which will take place on Saturday, 6 June, will see walkers
taking on either 22 miles from Rhossili to Langland; 10 miles from Oxwich to Langland or the
shorter 3-mile route from Caswell to Langland.
If you can’t join one of the Charity’s in-person events you can still take part and fundraise; It
will be your distance, your challenge, your route and you can Walk Wales your way!
Wales Air Ambulance must raise £13 million each year to keep its helicopters in the sky and
rapid response vehicles on the road and fundraisers like Walk Wales are vital.
Gail Windley, Wales Air Ambulance’s Events and Partnerships Fundraiser, said: “We are
excited that our popular Walk Wales fundraiser is back for the seventh year. This year we
plan on it being bigger and more accessible for participants. Walk Wales is wonderful
fundraising initiative, which helps people keep fit whilst doing something good for the
people of Wales.

“We’re delighted that our ambassador James Hook is joining us again this year. This
fundraiser is aimed at all ages and a wonderful way for our supporters to help us celebrate
our 25 th anniversary. If you want to play a part in helping save lives across Wales, put on
those walking shoes and Walk Wales with us for a fantastic cause. It is a fundraiser not to be
missed.”
