A recent Estyn report has praised the school for its calm, nurturing and modern learning environment, where pupils feel valued and respected. Staff make excellent use of the modern building’s open spaces, and the strong, caring relationships between pupils and staff really shine through.
The curriculum was highlighted as a major strength — rooted in the local area and Welsh context, and giving pupils a real voice in what they learn. Teachers were praised for helping pupils understand their learning, reflect on their progress and produce high quality work.
Most pupils are making strong progress, especially in literacy, where oracy, reading and writing skills are developing impressively. Many pupils are also progressing well in maths, with problem solving identified as an area already being developed further.
The report also recognised the excellent provision for pupils with additional learning needs, including the positive impact of the new Learning Resource Base.
Leaders were commended for using evidence effectively to drive improvements across the school.
A big well done to all pupils, staff and leaders — fantastic work and well deserved!
