A District Nurse gets a parking ticket just for doing her job

Taken from FB: Well today I think we’ve reached a new low. My parents have received care and support from the district nurses for the last couple of years. My father had such a visit today, the nurse on returning to her car which was parked outside found she had received a parking fine. I know this is a resident permit parking area but surely district nurses should be exempt and not penalised for simply doing their job. Luckily today’s visit was a 10 minute routine check up. A couple of months ago when my mother was still alive and receiving palliative care the nurse would stay for almost an hour looking after her and supporting us who were grieving. Can you imagine what it’s like to oversee and navigate such a traumatic situation and then having to deal with a parking fine on top of that. It’s simply not fair. These people are vital to our community and play such an important part within our society.
