The demands on temporary housing have reached crisis point, with homeless families being forced into substandard and sometimes dangerous accommodation, whilst the costs involved are pushing many local authorities into financial distress.

To investigate the legal and other barriers to tackling this issue, Local Government Lawyer and Devonshires are conducting a short survey into some of the underlying issues impeding the provision of temporary housing and we would be very grateful if you could take part.

The primary aim is to identify the legal barriers to the provision of more – and better quality – temporary housing while relieving the strain on councils.

Your answers will remain anonymous and will only be published in aggregated form. Some of the questions may not be relevant to your employer or experience so please feel free to skip any questions that you feel unable to answer.

To take part, please follow the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/temporaryaccom

All participants will receive a copy of the full aggregated results (no individual responses will be published) if they wish when the survey is complete, providing you with valuable original benchmarking information. The report and analysis of the survey will be published in Local Government Lawyer.

Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at derek.bedlow@localgovernmentlawyer.co.uk.

Thank you in advance for your participation and for sharing your views on this important issue.

Best regards,
