Temporary arrangements in Mountain Ash on Sunday for National Grid works
Henry Street in Mountain Ash will close on Sunday for planned works – requiring Henry Street North Car Park to close and Oxford Street to temporarily accept two-way traffic.
The National Grid works will install an electrical supply for new EV chargers at the railway station car park on behalf of Transport for Wales – taking place from 8am-8pm on Sunday, January 12.
Road users will be unable to access Henry Street from its junction with Oxford Street. Henry Street North Car Park will also close to the public to help facilitate the EV charger connection at the station car park – but Henry Street South Car Park will remain open.
Pedestrian access to the adjacent Mountain Ash Train Station will be unaffected.
An alternative route for motorists will be via Oxford Street, Miskin Road and Henry Street. A map of the closure and alternative route is included here.
Oxford Street is usually a one-way street – but will accept two-way traffic during the works, under temporary traffic lights. Three parking bays in Oxford Street will be temporarily brought out of use to facilitate these arrangements.
The bus stop outside the railway station in Henry Street will also temporarily close, and bus users can use the next nearest stop at Oxford Street (near Greggs). Alternatively, bus users can use Nixon’s bus stop on Miskin Road.
Drivers approaching from the northern side of Oxford Street can also divert via the Town Centre Bridge, A4059 New Road, The Cross Valley Link Road, Miskin Road and Henry Street.
