Just after 2: 10 am Sunday, December 8, we received a report of a driver failing to stop for our Roads Policing Unit.
36-year-old Luke Hughes, from Gelli, Pentre, then stopped the car and tried to run off on foot. A short foot chase ensued by officers before he was arrested.
Hughes appeared at Merthyr Magistrates Court this morning and has been charged with the following offences. He has been remanded into custody.
• Dangerous Driving
• Driving a motor vehicle with a drug concentration of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit
• Driving whilst disqualified
• Possession of Class A (Cocaine)
