South Wales Police Family Fun Day 2024 – Come and join us!

t’s almost time… the South Wales Police Family Fun Day 2024 will take place on Saturday, June 29, at HQ in Bridgend!

This event is a great opportunity for you to find out what we do as a service, from taking fingerprints to firearm demonstrations.

What’s the Family Fun Day all about?

As with last year’s event, there will once again be attractions, activities and demonstrations to delight all ages:

  • Meet our wellbeing dogs and watch police dog demonstrations
  • The chance to see our latest operational equipment including our cars and bikes
  • See the vintage police cars on display
  • Check out our latest operational equipment, including our cars and bikes
  • Dress up for kids uniform and meet our mascot Billy Blue
  • Tours of our Heritage Centre (*booking required – see below)
  • Watch live demonstrations by our Joint Firearms Unit
  • Technology demonstrations including Facial Recognition
  • Stalls hosted by our networks, partner agencies and various departments

How much does entry cost?

This is a FREE event, giving you the chance to meet our officers and staff and learn about what we do. You don’t need to bring any form of ID.

Heritage Centre Bookings

Don’t miss out on your chance the visit to Heritage Centre during the force open day. Bookings are available on a first-come, first serve basis at 10:30 – 11:00, 11:30 – 12:00, 13:00 – 13:30, 14:00 – 14:30, 15:00 – 15:30. All visits will last approximately 30 minutes. Book your visit today by emailing: policeheritage@south-wales.police.uk.

If we get fully booked, we’ll look to accommodate those who missed out on another date.

Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan said:

“Our Family Fun Day always goes down well with attendees and I’m looking forward to meeting some of you at this years event. If you and your family want to spend some time with us, see some of the work we carry out, and meet those that help keep your community safe, please come along. I can’t promise the sunshine, but I can assure you it will be a fantastic day.”

By Car: Use M4 Junctions 35-37, following the signs for Bridgend.

By Train: We are approximately a 20-minute walk from Bridgend train station.
