World Book Day 2024

World Book Day 2024

Dear Editor

As many of your readers with children will know, World Book Day is almost here, with the big day taking place this Thursday, March 7.

This year’s theme is “Read your Way” and at RNIB Cymru we’re fully embracing that philosophy! However children want to enjoy one of this year’s free books, we’re on hand to ensure they can, with the provision of free books in a range of accessible formats.

There are 13 books available, from those aimed at beginners like David McKee’s Elmer and the Patchwork Story, to stories for older readers such as Dread Wood: Creepy Creations by Jennifer Killick.

There’s even a special book for Welsh readers, Ffeithiau Ffiaidd y Corff, which is packed full of wonderfully gross facts about the human body!

To make sure children across Wales can get involved regardless of their level of sight, we’re offering all 13 books in braille, giant print and audiobook formats, empowering children with sight loss to read their way!

CD and physical braille books are available on request from our Helpline on 0303 123 9999, while downloadable versions can be found at readingservices.rnib.org.uk.

Yours sincerely,

Emma Jones
