Union ‘stitch-up’ raises questions about our democracy

Responding to allegations of a stitch-up in the Labour leadership contest, the Shadow Minister for Social Partnership, said:

“The murky relationship between Labour and the unions has serious implications for everyone in Wales.

“This process will eventually determine who will be the next First Minister of Wales, and allegations of a stitch up will raise questions about the influence of these unions in our democracy.

“Labour’s union paymasters must not be allowed to select our First Ministers through questionable processes.”
