A FREE, FUN & ENTERTAINING talk about 'Why democracy is a sham!' with guest speaker Peter Macfadyn of Independents for Frome (IfF). IfF was created to support a group of individuals to stand and get elected to Frome Town Council in 2011. They were re-elected in 2015.
Peter will explain how IfF changed the rules and structure, how the relationship between community and council changed from representative (being elected and hide for 4 years!) to participative democracy (constant engagement), and what they have achieved without the constraints of Party Politics.
There will also be a raffle with fantastic prizes and the bar will be open!
