Major boost for hydrogen as UK unlocks new investment and jobs
Commenting on the announcement that eleven new production projects helping to place UK at forefront of the hydrogen industry and bring progress towards net zero ambitions, Welch Conservative Shadow Climate Change Minister, Janet Finch-Saunders MS said:
“This is fantastic news from the UK Conservative Government, hydrogen presents a massive economic opportunity for the UK, unlocking over 12,000 jobs and up to £11 billion of investment.
“Wales will see significant investment and jobs as a result of the Conservative Government’s investment, including a 20MW electrolytic hydrogen production facility, which is significant in developing South Wales’s first large-scale green hydrogen production plant.
“The UK Government is delivering on their pledges to reach our net zero targets while the Labour Government in Wales dawdle and talk about the climate emergency, the UK Government are actually getting on with the job and delivering for the UK.”
