Welsh Labour refuses to take responsibility for the education funding crisis
Responding to her spokesperson questions to Labour’s Education Minister Jeremy Miles, Welsh Conservative Shadow Education Minister, Laura Anne Jones MS said:
“With head teachers in Wales currently describing the current financial difficulties as “frightening”, I challenged the Minister on his government’s record of cutting the education budget.
“The Minister constantly shrugged off blame and failed to accept any accountability for his department’s clear and evident failures. Yet, money is wasted constantly on vanity projects such as reforming the school holiday, which is at the bottom of the priority list for schools.
“Rather than stand up and take responsibility for failing our children in Wales, once again the Minister delivered another load of empty words and hot air, all whilst Wales languishes at the bottom of education performance tables.”
