Aberdare man arrested

Two South Wales Police officers were the victim of a serious assault yesterday while on duty in Pontypridd in the town centre.

A 41-year-old man from Aberdare threatened the two officers with serious violence and threats to kill yesterday evening on the 14 August at 10 pm, and was arrested on the scene.

Chief Superintendent Stephen Jones commented, “Both two officers showed extreme bravery in the face of this violent attack and their swift action resulted in the arrest of the suspect, following a short pursuit in Pontypridd town centre and a deployment of a taser.”
