Empowering Communities: Pen y Cymoedd Joins Forces with Neath Port Talbot CVS, Cranfield Trust, and Interlink RCT to Enhance Support for Charitable Organisations

Pen y Cymoedd expands the support available to charitable and community organisations in the fund area working with Neath Port Talbot CVS, Cranfield Trust and Interlink RCT.

In 2018, they embarked on a transformative journey in partnership with Neath Port Talbot CVS and Interlink RCT. This collaborative effort resulted in the establishment of a Supporting Communities team, dedicated to empowering fund applicants and grant recipients over a five-year period. As this phase came to a close, a comprehensive assessment was conducted to better understand the evolving needs of community funding.

Exciting news followed, as a dynamic collaboration with Cranfield Trust was announced. With a generous £64,000 grant from Pen y Cymoedd, Cranfield Trust will lead the ‘Stronger Charities, Stronger Communities’ initiative for the next three years.

Cranfield Trust, an esteemed registered charity, is renowned for its pro bono management support for welfare charities and voluntary sector organizations throughout the UK. Having been shortlisted for Small Charity of the Year 2023, their invaluable expertise is channeled through a skilled volunteer network, effectively assisting organizations in managing resources and addressing societal challenges.

The newfound funding will facilitate direct engagement with 21 charities within the fund area. This involves tailored consultancy, mentoring, and on-call support, all aimed at equipping these organizations with tools to overcome immediate challenges and pave the way for sustainable growth. Amanda Tincknell CBE, CEO of Cranfield Trust, emphasizes the urgency of support amid rising challenges linked to the cost of living crisis.

Concurrently, Neath Port Talbot CVS will continue its pivotal role, employing skilled personnel to collaborate closely with Community Fund staff. The partnership, backed by a £64,000 allocation, is dedicated to fostering positive and enduring changes. By uniting local leaders and communities, this joint effort aims to maximise the potential of the Fund. Through hands-on guidance and a commitment to collaboration, this comprehensive approach seeks to leverage local strengths and promote impactful projects addressing pressing issues, all while fostering knowledge sharing and community growth.
