Responding to the First Minister’s statement on raising Wales’ international profile – an update on the Welsh Government’s international relations activity, Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew RT Davies MS, Said:

Regretfully, Wales also saw the largest increase in the rate of economic activity compared with the same period last year.
“With trade deals very much on the agenda from the UK Government’s perspective, it is important to understand how Labour Ministers in the Senedd engage with the UK Government when trade deals are being formulated to ensure the success of these trade deals is maximised in Wales.
The Welsh Government has 21 offices across 11 countries, employing 41 staff and costing the taxpayer £4,684,000.

Regretfully, the First Minister failed to elaborate how Welsh Government offices across the world interact with the diplomatic presence that the UK Government has with its embassy and consular network. It’s important that Wales draws on the strength and expertise that exists in many of these embassies and consulates at an international level to support the promotion of Wales.”
