Wales in danger of losing £500m unspent EU cash that’s without the £150 million already sent back to the UK Government

Commenting on the news that Wales may lose up to £500m of unspent EU money, Welsh Conservative Shadow Economy Minister, Paul Davies MS said:

“For such an incredible amount of money to be sat in the Labour Government’s coffers waiting to be spent is staggering. That money is greatly needed across Wales and would make a huge impact, if spent correctly.

“The vast sum of money includes £446m for the Structural Funds Programme, which could be used on a multitude of areas, such as building new roads, regenerating Wales’ dying high street or installing more EV charging points. Whilst £58m earmarked for the Rural Development Programme could be spent to help struggling farmers, businesses and other external organisations.

“Whilst Labour has run the Welsh economy into the ground over the past 25 years, the Welsh Conservatives have a plan for the economy in Wales, investing in freeports, encouraging enterprise and levelling-up across the country.”

The madness of Welsh Labour that the public keep on voting for why?
