South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision on Tuesday 30 May on A4059 Aberdare.
The collision occurred around 2 pm on New Road, Abercynon where a HGV collided with another vehicle causing the driver serious injuries.

The report
The scene of a serious collision on New Road (A4059), Abercynon. The road is closed in both directions between New Road (Penrhiwceiber bridge) and New Road (Abercynon turn-off near Pontycnon Industrial Estate). The road will also be closed at Abercynon roundabout preventing entry to New Road, Abercynon Road is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
