RCT Council Launches 4 New Business Support Grants
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses and our town centres, the Council has launched 4 new grant programmes utilising both the U.K. Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund and the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Placemaking Grant.
The new grant programmes are:
Business Growth Grant (BGG)
This grant is aimed at supporting sustainable local businesses to set up, grow or diversify, and to allow them to contribute to creating a more vibrant and stronger local economy.

Councillor Mark Norris, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member Development and Prosperity, said: “I am pleased to confirm that the Council has now launched four new grant schemes thanks to funding that has been secured through both the Shared Prosperity Fund from the U.K. Government, and also the Transforming Towns Placemaking Grant from the Welsh Government.
“Utilising this funding for these purposes reaffirms the Council’s continued commitment to supporting businesses, developing the local economy, regenerating town centres and encouraging private sector investment in the economy.
“We have already seen a number of strategic projects delivered in our town centres over recent years, and it is intended that these grant support schemes can build on those foundations and encourage further enterprise and development.”
