Parents left waiting with no answers to their child’s death

Parents left waiting with no answers to their child’s death

Grieving parents have been left waiting more than 14 months for answers about why their 12-day-old son died.

Responding to the news, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Social Services, Gareth Davies MS, said:

“My thoughts are with Joann and Christian who are still having to relive the unimaginable pain of losing their son.

“There is no excuse for this report to be dragged out for 14 months. The Welsh Government need to get their priorities in order and make Public Health Wales finally give the Edwards’ family the answers they deserve.

“It is very concerning that there appears to be a larger problem with diagnosis of enterovirus with myocarditis across south Wales. It’s clear more than ever that we need a Wales-wide review of children’s services in Wales, especially as Wales is the only UK nation not undertaking one.”
