For the first time, the organizers are inviting expressions of interest to present the main awards, with a panel discussing and selecting the successful applications. The net is being cast as wide as possible, and according to the Chairman of the Executive Committee, Helen Prosser, there is a lot of interest locally and nationally.
She says, “ We are aware that a number of individuals, bodies and organizations have been disappointed in the past as they have missed the opportunity to present the Chair, the Crown or some of our medals and other significant awards.
“We believe in operating in a slightly different way here in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and therefore we invite anyone to express an interest in presenting the awards. And we look forward to receiving a large number of applications for the honor by the closing date of 18 May.
“People are very keen to be part of the Eisteddfod here in the Valleys, and so many people from all parts of Wales and beyond have a connection with someone or something in the catchment area and many want to support. We are grateful to everyone everywhere for their friendship and desire to be part of our Main Festival next year.”
