Is it a coincidence that the Cynon Valley MS Vikki Howells chosen to be photographed on the footbridge due for demolition
The question is why is Rhondda Cynon Taf Council demolishing a perfectly good footbridge over the Aberdare bypass in support of a longer walk to the proposed new bridge and new pedestrian crossing?
It would appear that the Council has millions to spend on other bridge projects but wants to remove the Aberdare bypass bridge completely and replace it with just a footbridge over the River Cynon.
The council is run by the Cabinet and is made up of the Leader, Deputy Leader and 7 other Executive Members who take key and significant decisions. Perhaps a member of the cabinet can explain to the residents of Cynon Valley the reason why there is a need to demolish the footbridge at taxpayers expense?
