JAILED DRUG DEALER | PORTH
A Rhondda woman has been jailed for possessing heroin with intent to supply.
On December 11th, 2019, Jamie Day, 28, of Porth was spotted by officers carrying out drug deals throughout her home village from a red Peugeot.
They followed the car and witnessed one drug deal after another and called for nearby roads policing officers to stop and search the car – she tried to run away from police but was arrested nearby.
Police used a drugs dog to search the vehicle and they recovered heroin, digital scales and hundreds of pounds in cash.
A phone recovered from her home address also contained evidence of drug dealing
She appeared at Merthyr Crown Court on 23rd November, 2020 and was jailed for two years after pleading guilty for possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Detective Constable Brett O’Hagan, said: “The organised crime unit are carrying out proactive patrols every day, looking for those who we suspect to be involved in the supply of drugs. Those caught pay a high price – indeed she will spend Christmas behind bars, but it is no less than she deserve because of the devastating impact her choices has had upon the lives of drug users and their families."
